FAQs
Breeze needs an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 15 Sequoia or later, with at least one fan it can write to. In practice that means the MacBook Pro, Mac mini, Mac Studio, and iMac. Breeze checks your hardware on launch and tells you plainly if it cannot control anything.
No. Breeze is Apple Silicon only and refuses to run on Intel rather than half-working. Intel Macs already have long-standing fan utilities, and supporting both would mean two different sensor layouts to keep honest.
Every Apple Silicon MacBook Air is fanless, so there is nothing to control. Breeze still reads temperatures on an Air, and it will not offer to sell you manual control on a Mac that cannot use it.
It gives you the lever, not a guarantee. macOS throttles to protect a hot chip, and it keeps fans quiet longer than performance would prefer. Running your fans higher before a heavy export means the machine reaches its thermal limit later, or not at all. Whether that recovers speed depends on your Mac and your workload.
No. Manual mode is one fixed target RPM per fan, which you set and can change at any time. There is no temperature-driven curve editor, and Breeze never changes your fan speed on its own.
Yes, every speed you set is clamped to the min and max RPM your hardware reports, and the helper re-checks those limits on every write.
Every fan reverts to its original automatic state, even if Breeze stops responding, thanks to a dead-man timer. Manual speeds never persist between launches.
Writing a fan speed requires root, so Breeze installs a small helper via SMAppService. Approve it once in System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions. The helper only performs fan operations, nothing else.
All monitoring is free forever: temperatures, fan RPM, the heatmap, and the menu bar graph. The one-time purchase only unlocks manual fan control.
Up to 3 at a time. Free a slot by deactivating it in Breeze, or removing it from the customer portal.
Your key is emailed at purchase and stored in the customer portal. Sign in with your purchase email for a one-time code.
Yes. Breeze caches its last check and keeps working offline for two weeks. A network failure never locks you out.
No. Pay $12.99 once, it’s yours forever, no renewal, no account to maintain.
Yes, within 14 days of purchase. Email support for a full refund, no questions asked.
No analytics, telemetry, or account system. Its only network call is the license check, sending nothing but your license key.
You are. Breeze is built for people who understand what changing a fan curve does, and it writes real values to your hardware. The authors accept no liability for data loss, hardware damage, lost profit, or any other loss arising from use or misuse of this software. It is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind.
App Store sandboxing blocks the privileged fan-control helper, so a sandboxed Breeze could only show numbers. It ships directly instead, signed and notarized by Apple.
