What the Breeze app sends

One thing, to one place. When you activate or revalidate a license, Breeze contacts Polar’s licensing API. That request carries your license key, the identifiers of the product it belongs to, a label naming the Mac you are activating so you can recognize it later in your account, and a hardware identifier used to tell your three activation slots apart.

Revalidation happens at most once a day, plus whenever you activate, deactivate, or press Check Now yourself. If the network is unavailable the app keeps working from its last answer for two weeks.

What the app never sends

• No temperature or fan data. Every reading stays on your Mac. Sensor values, fan speeds, and the rolling history exist only in memory and on screen.
• No analytics or telemetry. There is no usage reporting, no event tracking, and no crash reporting in the app.
• No account. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to store.
• No files. Breeze reads hardware sensors, not your documents.

Your license key is kept in the macOS Keychain, on that Mac only, and is deliberately not synced through iCloud.

What this website does

The site is a set of static files with no backend, no server logs of our own, and no database. Two things still run in your browser and you should know about both.

Advertising measurement.When it is configured, the site loads Google’s tag to measure whether an ad click led to a download or a purchase. It records the fact that those actions happened, along with the purchase amount and currency. If you arrive from a Google ad, the click identifier from the URL is stored in your browser for up to ninety days so a later purchase can be attributed to it. Google’s own privacy terms govern that data once it leaves your browser.

Local browser storage. The site stores a small number of values in your browser: the ad click identifier described above, a record that you accepted the download disclaimer so you are not shown it twice, and a checkout identifier used to avoid counting one purchase more than once. These stay on your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing site data.

Payments

Purchases are handled entirely by Polar, our merchant of record. Card details are entered on Polar’s own checkout, not here, and never reach this site or the app. Polar issues your license key by email and hosts the portal where you can retrieve it later. Their privacy policy covers the billing data they hold.

Access, deletion, and contact

Because we hold no account for you, there is little to request: the data associated with a purchase lives with Polar, and you can view or remove your activations yourself through their customer portal. If you want your purchase record deleted, or you have any question this page does not answer, email [email protected] and we will handle it directly.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top of this page changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, because we do not have your email unless you have written to us.
